Haramaya University’s Administrative Board awards the rank of full Professorship in Cultural and Social analysis to Dr Jeylan Woliyie Dr. Jeylan Wolyie Hussein was born on 16 July 1970 at a rural village of Bale-Robe, Oromiya. He attended his primary education at Galama Primary School and his junior and secondary educations at Robe Senior Secondary School. He joined Addis Ababa University in September 1989 and graduated with B.A Degree in English Language and Literature in July 1994. From October 1994-August 1998, Dr. Jeylan worked as a language and culture expert in the then Culture and Information Bureau of the Regional State of Oromia. This provided him the opportunity to make extensive ethnographic inquiries in different zones and districts of Oromia and grasp the material, moral, social-psychological and ethno-spiritual foundation of the people.
